This beginning level class taught by Susan Boyajian, a fifteen year veteran of the voiceover industry, offers a broad introduction to the world of voiceover.
- The basic techniques in breaking down copy
- Finding your voice - your Signature Voice
- How to overcome your anxiety -- we'll focus on how to have fun
- Instruction on what makes voiceover unique from other types of acting
- How to work with the mic

Intermediate Voice Acting: Commercial and Animation
This Intermediate Level class will be a split class: Roger Scott will teach the first three weeks, focusing on fundamentals of character development with comedic/humorous commercial copy. Susan Boyajian will teach the last three weeks, continuing the application of character development applied to animation copy. This class is reserved for those students who have already completed Susan's six week introductory class and/or those students who can demonstrate they are beyond a beginning level through either their previous voiceover education or practical experience.
- Solo, dialogue and group work with comedic/humorous copy
- Focus on creating and sustaining comedic characters
- Development of techniques for making each read unique and personal
- How to make "x factor" a part of every performance
- Original copy -- each student will write, cast and direct their own piece of commercial copy
- Being comfortable with Characters in your wheel house
- Having fun and letting go!

Advanced Animation: Character Development
with Industry Guest Director!
How do you slay animation and game auditions? Great acting with great characters! Working with improv and scripts you'll discover new characters and fine tune what you do best. A fun, supportive, and challenging class to get you building the gang of characters you need for a successful animation career! Taught by TV comedy pro Nancy Sullivan, last class with guest director Alicia Beekman (VO agent: animation @ Commercial Talent Agency)
Alicia Beekman is a young dynamic agent who started the Voiceover department at Commerical Talent Agendncy in 2014. She reps talent of all ages (as young as 4!) for animation, commerical, promo, and audiobooks. Her clients can be heard regularly on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, in feature films, and in endless commerical and radio campaigns. Alicia is passionate about seeing the world - she is going to hit her 50th country this year!

Commercials and Promos with Jodi Gottlieb
Jodi Gottlieb’s roots are in the New York theatre where she honed her directing skills. A change of career path brought her to the world of advertising where she was pleased to discover her natural abilities were marketable. She soon became an award-winning VP of Production (Campbell's Soup, Bristol-Meyers, 3M, Hills Bros. Coffee, and many more). Moving to LA as a Senior Broadcast Producer on retail accounts, she was invited to CBS for a three-week assignment as a Writer/Producer and stayed for ten years. As an independent contractor, she has written and produced award-winning promos for CBS, ABC, NBC, Showtime, TBS, USA, ABC Family and many others. She is the co-author of the industry book, “TV: Sex, Lies & Promos.” Invited to guest direct at several VO workshops, she was urged to teach privately and produce demos. Jodi has been teaching VO for over twenty years and specializes in promo, commercial and trailer reads.
Week 1: We will work on commercials and explore various techniques to get your best read, including Point Of View.
Week 2: We will work on promos to tap into the unique rhythm of promos and inform your instincts.
Week 3: We will combine the approaches we’ve learned and get you ready to tackle any audition.

Advanced Commercials: Roger Scott & Guest Directors
This six week, advanced level class, taught by Roger Scott, will feature intensive character creation work, using humorous material.
You'll exit this class with 5-10 characters in your voiceover arsenal, to us as prototypes for future copy. You'll be amazed and astounded -- at yourself! But wait, there's more! You'll also be guided by two high-profile, working casting directors, who will put you through your voiceover paces and also talk turkey on the voiceover industry.
Class consists of 10-12 students.
